Type, Meet Steve. Steve, Type.

So I bought a book. A book on typography.

I figure, since I’m doing this web programming thing now (I know, I know - I’m late to the party), I should know at least a little about typography and how it relates to design.

Anyway, I’m trying to be more aware of text and welcome any good resources. Also, I’ve decided I like how Century Gothic looks for a header font.

T-Mobile’s G1…

I’m not going to try and put down the Android platform, since I haven’t played with it, and, at least on paper, it actually looks like quite a compelling software platform.

The first iPhone hardware was widely and rightly criticized for it’s recessed headphone jack

I get that there’s no desktop sync, it’s all linked to your google account and all happens in that ill-defined “cloud.”  I’m not sold, but I get it.

As for the hardware… only 1GB of memory, but upgradeable with an SD card slot, so whatever - I’m not going to argue.

However…

All I want to ask about the new G1 Phone is: How do you make an all-in-one communication/media device that doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack?  Why the need to purchase an extra adapter for what’s supposed to be an all-in-one device?

AutoHyperlinks in MacCode

AutoHyperlinks has been officially added to macode, a repository of BSD licensed OS X libraries, frameworks, and code snippets.

I’ll be continuing development on it over there and porting changes to adium (or just setting up an svn:external property - we’ll see) to prevent any GPL contamination of the main source.  Not that it’s likely, of course, but one can’t be too careful about these things.

Adium 1.3 Released!

Adium 1.3 has finally been released!

In addition to tons of overall improvements, this release includes the new BSD-Licensed AutoHyperlinks Framework, which offers many, many improvements over the old architecture.
